NABIP - Northern Nevada Membership Luncheon

The objective of this course is to teach the fundamental tenets of ethical thought, to explain how competing philosophical constructs, such as ethics versus religion, are the underpinning on which some modern democratic regulatory systems developed, how that development is reflected in Nevada’s system of governmental regulations for insurance matters and what ethical burdens are then placed upon a licensed insurance agent operating under those rules.

About Our Speaker: 

Don Goldmann, recognized for his in-depth analysis of the insurance market, has had a distinguished career spanning over 40 years.

After retiring from the Word & Brown General Agency and completing ten years on the national Board of Directors for the National Association of Health Underwriters, Don continues to consult on ACA regulations and personnel issues, mentors promising new agents, writes and edits works of other industry writers as well as continuing to publish himself, continues to present licensed industry insurance education programs and works with charities through his favorite hobby of wine education.

Don joined Word & Brown as the National Vice President of Sales and led the project to expand the Word & Brown General Agency nationally. He was the project leader creating the Word & Brown Broker University and then working with hundreds of brokers on their Certified Insurance Professional designation.

Before joining Word & Brown, Don was National Director of Sales for CIMS, a General Agency and wholly own subsidiary of Anthem, Inc. with offices in California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Illinois.

Previously, he was part owner and Vice President of Sales/Marketing for Group Benefits Plus and also served with MetLife where he held management positions including Vice President of Provider Contracting and then, Customer Operations. He began his insurance career as a life agent with Mass Mutual; after which in the early 1980's, joined FHP HMO where he was the renewal sales manager.

Goldmann is a highly sought-after speaker and frequently published contributor to national, state and local journals for Health and Life Underwriters, CPA Societies, Societies for Financial Planners, Life Insurance Company Office Management groups, Employee Benefit Associations, top producer conferences, colleges and top universities as well as other trade and community organizations.
